don’t pay any attention to the spanish title. i am just trying to embrace the mexican heritage i married into. with a last name like “gallegos”, you really have to know a few spanish words. (and with a first name like “janetha”, you have to have a lot of patience because everyone is going to say it wrong.. but that is a story for another day..) actually, “dos años” are two spanish words that i already knew before i was a gallegos. i know, i am so cultured.
so what does it all mean? well, you don’t have to know spanish to know that it means TWO YEARS.

And your post about your mom, and her struggles lately hit me hard because my mom first got cancer when I was eight years old, I am 25 now and since then she has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, OCD, several tumors and lesions on her brain, and various other illnesses..but I remain strong, because as a daughter it is what we have to do, and I appreciate your posts, and your courage, strength, and ability to enjoy the little things, in life. I love this post, adore you, and hope you do this for many many many more years (at least two ;p)

I adore your blog for many reasons, one of which being that it introduced me to Body For Life! While I’m happy with my diet and cardio routine, my weight lifting had been pathetic. I started doing the Body for Life weight lifting routine just a few weeks ago and I can see a HUGE difference already! Oh, and I love your owl spoons. :)

I’d say the thing I take away most from your blog – and the main reason I love it – is that, while working full time and taking care of pets and your home and being married, you make the time to take care of yourself through healthy meal planning and staying active. And whether or not you always feel like you have a good balance, it definitely looks like it from the outside looking in. That’s the one thing I seem to struggle with the most: not finding but MAKING The time to be active, especially when things are busy and when the weather is gross, etc, and I am always encouraged when I read your blog.

What I have learned from your blog is SO.MANY.THINGS. seriously. But the biggest thing is that lifting weights is not a bad thing for women. I always used to think that the only way to workout was cardio, cardio, cardio- pretty much running miles & miles until I could run no more…and then I found your blog. All of that definition that you have from lifting weights & how tone you are just ROCKS! And I thank you for teaching me that because now I’m IN love with lifting :)

You are one of my favorite bloggers, Janetha! Since I’ve been reading your blog, I’ve realized how important the consumption of protein was, and having to strength train our muscles. I used to never pay attention to protein count, and I rarely ate meat too. Now I occasionally eat meat, but I’ve been consuming more eggs, and other protein rich foods.
I also love how honest you are on the blog, from your past to reviews, anything really.
And one more…. all of your recipes look delicious! and healthy, and also simple to make.

I learned the protein powder in oatmeal, cooking oatmeal on the stove makes it taste WAY better, even non-morning person people can workout in the a.m., and that greek yogurt really does taste AMAZING as a sour cream substitute! YUM!

I first found your blog — I don’t remember where to be honest, but I loved seeing your BFL photos, progress, etc. And honestly I stuck around because I liked YOU! I like what you eat, what sort of exercise you do, your dogs, etc!
wow, there is no way i could list everything that i learn from your blog. i learn something (usually multiple somethings) everyday. i think the blog is great just as it is, but since you want SOME critique, i guess i’ll dig for something. you should do more video blogs. this one was a little bit rough around the edges, though not entirely your fault (rough, but still awesome and kudos for the bravery to speak on camera). as you already know, there was a lot of outside noise and it seemed kind of rushed. i have tried a lot of blogs, but this one of the only ones that i read everyday. finally, just to wrap up a rambling comment, my fave recent post was about your drinking/partying. i also used to be a party girl. my husfriend does not drink (never has!) and i would go out all the time without him. some of my friends didn’t even know that i had a partner! now i prefer to just stay in a hang out with him and the cats. it was def a “bonding” post.

First, I love reading your blog because of how genuine and honest you are. I feel like a lot of blogs just put forth what their readers want you hear, but you delve right into the real stuff- good or bad. Something that I have learned from your blog is to listen to my body. The posts that you have done recently where you shared your intended meal plan for the week and then noted when you strayed from the meal plan because you were craving something else really opened my eyes. As someone who is recovering from an eating disorder, I tend to get very consumed with sticking to “the plan”, and I often find myself eating something I don’t want just because I had already planned for it. After seeing you make these changes, I was inspired to do the same and have been listening to my body– and it’s liberating! Thanks for the great blog, Janetha! Keep it up (:

Your blog is awesome. I’m so glad I found it a couple months back. Since then I have tried multiple recipes you have posted and each and every one has been fabulous. Please please think seriously about creating a recipe/cook book =) I will get in line now for the pre-order. One thing about your blog, I know you have the seach feature but it hasn’t worked out that well for me. I know you put a post up in the past few months about the type of protein powder you use but I cannot find it. Maybe I am doing something wrong in the search box. Just wondering if you have your posted catergorized somewhere to make searching easier?

You had posted about a quick and easy buffalo chicken salad with greek yogurt and I was hooked on your blog AND that chicken salad! I love all of the healthy recipes and ideas. Ummm, your gum talk made me FINALLY buy some guar gum yesterday and I put it in my smoothie today and OH MY it was the most amazing thing ever. I think I used more than I needed, because it became pudding-like in consistency, whereas it’s usually watery….it was SO. GOOD. Thank you so much, Janetha!!!
