quick like a fox.
hola! wow, it’s late. 10 PM and this is the first time i have sat down on my couch today. how about a quickie? that’s what she said.
i was fortunate enough to have a lunch date today with not one but TWO lovely blogging friends. emily (formerly known as the experimentarian) lives here in utah and we get together as often as our busy schedules permit. sofia happens to be in the SLC this week, so we planned a lunch at blue lemon.
emily actually suggested this new-to-me restaurant. and i am glad she did! for you utah kids.. it is on 55 west south temple. their motto is “pure clean food with a twist”. i really wanted everything on the menu. no, seriously, it all looked good.
i ended up ordering the hummus because i have to try hummus whenever i see it on the menu..
my thoughts? this was a chunky, thick hummus. good for spreading but not so much for dipping. the flavor was good, but i wouldn’t put it in my top five. that doesn’t mean i didn’t eat it. hello, it’s hummus.
i also got the roasted turkey avocado sandwich. it had fresh roasted turkey, provolone cheese, lemon herb smashed avocados, lettuce, tomato and sweet red onions and was served on a wheat ciabatta roll.
the smashed avocado was my favorite part.
no, i lied.. the company was my favorite part.
emily snuck out early (stupid work) so she missed the photo op. and the photo i did take of her is awesome but she won’t let me post it.
sofia is dope! i really love it when i meet people and there’s so much to talk about. what i don’t love is going back to work.. our time was too short. hopefully we can hang again before she leaves town.
i was at work wayyy late again today. past closing time, in fact. when i got home, i was about to work out when my mom asked for a ride home. she just flew in from vegas. since i had to run her up to her house, i decided to stop at the store for some essentials on the way home. and by essentials i mean powdered sugar to make liz’s peanut butter pretzel truffles.
by the time all was said and done, it was 7:45. i was bound and determined to try the bodyrock.tv workout i skipped on monday.
it was the marine corps workout and MAN it was a doozy.(i don’t have a sandbag so i used a dumbbell instead.) 45 minutes later and the warm up, workout and cool down were done. a good workout doesn’t take a lot of time, people!
i made piccata for dinner and then whipped up the pretzel truffles. they are in the freezer now… can’t wait to see how they turn out!
WHEW. that’s that. semi-speedy.
oh, and before i go.. winners! i asked what kind of restaurant you would want to own, and then i picked 11 winners. here they are.
bumper stickers:
random number generator picked 5 random winners..
- marissa who said: “My mom is a baker so I think it would be neat to go into business together, as long as she is willing to go clean.”
- paije who said: “My restaurant….I have about a BILLION ideas floating around in my head. I want to have an organic seasonal veg and vegan restaurant. ONE DAY.”

Qs~
1. have you met other bloggers/blog readers in real life? do you love it?
2. what was your latest workout?
xo. janetha g.
I’ve met one blogger in real life (Ashley of The Fit Academic) and one of these dang days me and Lindsay of Cotter Crunch are going to meet in person… our schedules are both wackadoo but we’re working on it!! :) My latest workout was some dog walking and subsequent sun salutations to stretch my dang body out.
Turkey and avocado is totally my kind of sandwich. You’ve got me intrigued/scared out of my pants to try bodyrocktv.
I’m trying hot yoga this weekend with another blogger!
Hmmmm you were pretty fantastic in real life! But in all honesty, I think foodbuzz was way too short to really hang with everyone! But I’m beyond blessed to live in LA where I often get to have playdates with some of my favorite bloggers (Deb, Sophia, “the boos”, Lynn, etc)! So much so that I stopped calling them my “blog friends” and they are pretty much “friends” now.
It was WAY hot today, so I did indoor gym stuff today. Mainly the “stairmill to hell” (as I call it) while watching Giada on the Today show (which is really torture!) followed by some kettle bell swings.
yay. :O) was lovely meeting you, and i agree that the company won over the food, which is how things should always be.
as far as other bloggers, i am actually pretty reserved and usually don’t reach out to people. that’s the actual reason why i don’t meet a lot of NYC bloggers, but i didn’t make that entirely clear. aaand i’m sorta overly critical sometimes. but i’d say my first outreach attempt was a success ;)
last workout: prana yoga in trolley square. it was okay. not my favorite style of class, but relaxing nonetheless. aside: i got super excited when i saw the whole foods there, only to be let down by the opening in… X days countdown. i think they’re down to 4 at this point. exciting, except i’ll be gone! oh well.
Four days….I live so close to there…..SOOOO excited!
I recently got an App on my Iphone called Nike Training. FREE! And it has quite a few really good workout on there that let you choose what muscle groups you want to work plus how much time you have. Lets just say i haven’t done one yet that hasn’t left me exhausted!
I’ve met lots of bloggers. It’s always fun. Less stressful than online dating that’s for sure!
I haven’t met any bloggers in real life, but there are several that I would Love to meet! Of those are you….the Everythingatarian, and the chick with the broken elbow! I think all of these girls sound awesome!
As for a workout, I had to get a quick one in before work tonight, and I did a BodyRock home video. Thanks for the suggestions from her. Oh MY is all that I can say!
Meeting bloggers is awesome! Yes I have! I hoe to meet you one day too!!!! I have to try Body Rock! Looks awesome!!!!!
Have a great day! Its almost friday! xoxo <3
typo!!!! hope!
What a busyyyyy day! I think its awesome that you still managed to get your workout in there. And that girls abs are RIDICULOUS. Such a fun lunch. The smashed avocado on the sandwich does look pretty darn fantastic. And I want to try the pretzel truffles.
1. have you met other bloggers/blog readers in real life? do you love it? Yes! I always get nervous right before, but its so much fun :)
2. what was your latest workout? Walked & taught Pump!
Liz’s truffles, I am sooooo down with those!
And Zuzanna? Is that her name? I dunno b/c I never do her workouts (yet) but all I can think is holy hot smoking abs.
Wow.
Congrats to all the winnnnnnners!
Yes! One of my best friends (greendogwine) is a blogger, and that’s how we met! :)
I did “hit the deck” yesterday – it was intense, and awesome.
I love blogger meet ups. Have one coming up this weekend in fact and I can’t wait.
PS – I want, no need, that sandwich. Yum!
Love love love meeting bloggers in real life!! I’ve found that I just “click” with so many. I was actually talking to my dad about this last night- you know you’ve found your people when everyone gets as excited about nut butter and chocolate as you do :)
I WOn!!!! YAy!! :) Thanks girl. I’m so excited to sport my new bumper sticker. :)
i love meeting bloggers in real life! i’ve been lucky to meet a bunch of the amazing women in my area…they’re so cute :)
Hope you LOVE them!
That turkey sandwich looks so good! My favorite part is the smashed avocado too! I love avocados!
I’ve met one blogger before and I had a great time. It’s so interesting meeting someone in person that you read about every single day. :)
I have never met any other bloggers IRL because oh yeah, I live in the middle of nowhere :)
My last workout: I ran 3.26 miles in 28:55 – which is super, super, duper speedy for me! It was fun :)
I am crazy jealous of the truffles & the turkey sammich..
i really do like her workouts because they are effective efficient and so kick butt!!! I truly believe one can have an amazing workout within 30 minutes if done right…thats all it takes!
on another note…save me one of those balls! :) xoxoxox
I absolutely LOVE blogger meetups and I’ve made quite a few friends through blogging whom I keep in touch with weekly, if not daily! Smashed avocado is a nother love of mine, too haha!
i have only met one blogger, and thats because saskatoon, and just saskatchewan is so small there doesn’t seem to be very many.
my last workout was a bodycombat class, it kicked my butt and it was awesome. I need to get into a good routine again.
I met one blogger a few weeks ago when I realized she was visiting my school the next day. We put together a quick lunch on-campus before her tour and got to just talk about everything – schools, workouts, FOOD, blogging. It was so fun!
I just wanted to tell you that I tried out a workout from bodyrock.tv this morning. It was killer. I’m going to be sore tomorrow! But it was fun too, and I love that I now have the incentive to beat my own time. Which is your favorite bodyrock.tv workout so far?
oh man it’s hard to pick! the 550 rep fat massacre left me the most sore, but the most fun I had was the hot mess workout because of the add-on thing! which one did you do??
The 550 rep fat massacre. If you were sore, I’m sure I will be too! I couldn’t even make it through all the reps. But that’s what’ll motivate me to do it again. I want to finish it all :-) I’ll be sure to check out the hot mess workout too. Thanks!
i haven’t met other bloggers, but i sure would love to! you really get a sense of personality just from reading blogs and exchanging comments…it’d be so cool to meet up! maybe some day!
my last workout was a walk on the beach! :)
that was a long day for you – hope today is better!
I really really want to meet other bloggers in person–it just hasn’t happened quite yet! My latest workout was a 20-minute tabata DVD–kicked my butt. :)
The only bloggers I have met are my cousins who started their own blogs. I don’t know any here so I’m at a big zero score :(
Last workout I did was another spin class! They turn the lights off and pump loud music, plus the instructors were pretty cute dudes last night. A sweat drenching good time.
Never met a blogger in real life…but doesn’t mean it can’t happen so :) (holler Utah peeps!!) My latest workout was a sprint/interval run -35 mins + 20 mins stairs. A workout can be quick-and FUN, I agree :)
I’ve never net a blogger IRL, but I think it would be cool to someday!
My last workout was spin yesterday morning… and then B convinced me to go on a walk later on bc it was soooo summer-like yesterday. :) …only now my left hamstring is KILLING me. :(
I love meeting other bloggers! I’m real life buddies with Miss Lisa from I’m an Okie and I adore her. I’ve also met several bloggers at Fitbloggin and loved them all! I hope to meet YOU one day!
Last workout was a surprise 5.6 mile run (only meant to run 4!) followed with a Body Pump class. It was awesome.
What a fun lunch! It’s nice to get out in the middle of a work day :) Thanks for sharing the link for the truffles! My turn to make ;)
lunch looks so good!
That turkey sandwich looks fab. Also, I couldn’t workout at 7:45 if my life depended on it…you’re kind of my hero.
And I’ve met one blogger in real life and I loved the heck out of it…I want to meet more!
I met a handful of bloggers IRL right when I first started blogging. It was crazy intimidating.
SMALL WORLD, Jamie from http://cupcakedynamite.wordpress.com/ and I live only 2.4 miles away from each other in Virginia Beach! She stumbled onto my blog from Julie’s at pbfingers. We even went to neighboring high schools in NJ and played on the same field hockey field against one another.
I love it. We run together, we go out together, and it’s awesome. :)
ugh, SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO jealous of your lunch date! heart you all <3
YUM! the hummus looks like it rocked!
SO excited to sport the meals & moves bumper magnet! :D
xo.
Bodyrock workouts kill me! They’re so much fun to do.
As for the questions, I haven’t met any bloggers in real life, and it’s bound to never happen considering the fact that I live in the boonies!! Latest work out – 60 min on the elliptical (don’t ask how I did it. I don’t know how.) .. I officially hate that machine just like you do Janetha!
that sandwich looks awesome!
I need to tryt his bodyrock workout!!
Yep – I’ve met several bloggers in my hood and we’ve had a great time – its like meeting an old friend!
Walked for 80 minutes today! 40 minutes outside before work and 40 minutes at lunch tossing a 6 pound medicine ball the whole time for upper body – woot! :D
I haven’t met any fellow bloggers but then again…I’m pretty new to this scene. ;) I’d love to someday…soooo very many amazing people bloggin their hearts out. :)
Your blog always makes me hungry! Yummy. In other news, I did 90 minutes of walk/running on Tuesday + 30 mins of stretching.. Last night was 20 minutes of home yoga. Have you tried YogaDownload.com? It’s the greatest! Have a lovely day, everyone.
i have NEVER done yoga in my life!
Yes, I have known one girl for like 5 years now! It is so much fun to meet other bloggy friends! :D
xoxo
Kathleen
I have met two bloggers, one before she was a blogger :) and Chef Katelyn, who is now like my mini me lil sis. It’s fun!
I’ve met lots of bloggers in real life. I’m normally pretty shy when it comes to meeting new people, but I always feel like I have lots of things to talk about with other bloggers.
That hummus looks like my favorite kind–I prefer the chunky/hearty kinds! I always order it whenever I see it on the menu too.
Last workout was a hike through the mountains, and it was so refreshing–but my butt has been SO sore for the past day and a half.
Boooohyah!! Exciiiiiting :D
I have only met one blogger but hope to meet lots more! I love meeting new people!
My last workout was the 30 day shred level 2 this morning. Holy sweatmess :D
That workout sounds INTENSE! But awesome :) I’m a utah blogger girl and have been to Blue Lemon…love it!
I love how the avocado was taken to the next level, yum!
Bodyrock workouts are the best. I love how sweaty I get even in just 10 mins.
I remember that workout from bodyrock and a good one! But they all are to me ;) We have actually had the chance to meet quite a few bloggers in real life and we enjoy it. It is weird sometimes though actually talking with the person instead of just reading :)
I met you! It was awesome!
Haha, just catching up on your posts. :)
