facts.

December 2, 2010

we just got home from the annual company holiday party.

it’s late. i am sleepy. this calls for a “just the facts” post.

fact: holy crap, you guys REALLY want to win my contigo mug giveaway!

fact: i only have one mug to giveaway. i wish i had 362. one for every entry.

fact: i usually eat my breakfast while doing office work. i take the photo somewhere nice and then get to work. today, i just got straight to work and took the photo next to the fax machine. on a calendar that needs a month change.

IMG_3573

fact: i eat protein oatmeal for breakfast 73.9% of the time and don’t get sick of it.

IMG_3575

fact: more often than not, it is topped with mighty maple peanut butter, my favorite.

IMG_3574

fact: i hate pink stuff. we bought a pair of contigo mugs that came with a teal and a pink, so marshall stole the teal and i was left with this.

IMG_3576

fact: i don’t care what color the mug is. i just care that my coffee stays hot.. and it did.. even 4 hours later.

image

fact: leftover green chile chicken enchiladas do NOT photograph well.. but they sure are tasty!

IMG_3577

fact: i like greek yogurt in place of sour cream 100% of the time.

IMG_3579

fact: my after work snack was a cookie and a trader joe’s fig bar.

fact: i knew i needed protein in my snack, but i disregarded this knowledge and ate the cookie and bar and called it good. and it was.

fact: cardio is tough when you are on the up and up from being sick.

fact: cardio feels good, even if you can’t give it your all.

treadmill:

interval time speed (MPH)
2 minutes 6.0
1 minute 6.5
1 minute 7.0
1 minute 7.5
1 minute 8.0
1 minute 6.0
45 seconds 6.5
45 seconds 7.0
45 seconds 7.5
45 seconds 8.0
1 minute 6.0
45 seconds 6.5
45 seconds 7.0
45 seconds 7.5
45 seconds 8.0
1 minute 6.0
45 seconds 6.5
45 seconds 7.0
45 seconds 7.5
45 seconds 8.0
1 minute 8.5
2 minutes 4.0

total time: 21 minutes, total distance: 2.35 miles

stairmill:

10 minutes of fat burning intervals @ level 11.

fact: i was starving after my workout. serves me right for skipping protein on my after work snack.

fact: i didn’t want to eat anything because i had to get ready and leave for the dinner party in less than an hour.

fact: my husband is a babe. he made me tea.

IMG_3585

fact: this trader joe’s cinnamon vanilla black tea is my new favorite thing!

IMG_3590

fact: this is tea. not coffee. don’t let the mug fool you!

IMG_3592

fact: i said “MMMMM!” out loud every time i took a sip. it really is so good.

IMG_3594

fact: that really annoyed marshall.

fact: we had our christmas party at famous dave’s BBQ this year.

IMG_3602

fact: we usually have quite the elaborate party, so this was not usual.. you may recall last year. hypnotist and greek band and all.

fact: the economy blows, so we were lucky to have any party at all Smile

fact: i don’t like BBQ restaurants. there’s usually only tons of meat and tons of carbs. and crappy salad that is just lettuce and cheese.

IMG_3609

fact: while i do like meat and i love carbs.. i really wanted a vegetable. like, really bad.

fact: that didn’t stop me from eating a delicious cornbread muffin.

fact: i didn’t eat the brownie covered in hot fudge that was served for dessert. because i didn’t want it. which is strange for me and my sugar consumption as of late.

fact: i ate a cookie immediately upon walking in the door to my house.

fact: i also made a fried egg sandwich and inhaled it before any sort of photography could happen.

fact: right when i typed the above statement, the fried egg jellyfish showed up on the TV show we are watching! I AM NOT EVEN KIDDING! isn’t that weird?!? (it is the show “life”—narrated by oprah.)

fact: speaking of oprah, i never watch her show.. but it was on while i was at the gym today and it was all about loving your appearance as your grow older. i really enjoyed the discussion they were having and it made me smile. did anyone else catch it?

fact: i am pretty random. i really got off base there, didn’t i?

fact: i am going to have some more delicious tea and call it a night.

fact: i love you guys!

  16. December 3, 2010 8:23 am

Nice interval workout! That tea looks good, I love trying new flavors!

  17. December 3, 2010 8:29 am

Those mugs really do rock. We have one and it DOES keep your coffee warm for hours. Isn’t it funny when you know you should eat one thing, but you eat another instead (because its what you’re craving). I do this often…I should learn my lesson.

Our Christmas parties are so awful. Luckily, I’ll be on a business trip during this year’s.

That tea does sound good! Love you too Janetha G!

  19. December 3, 2010 9:04 am

I used to hate everything pink but for some reason I have been buying pink in bulk…it is my daughter’s fav color and I think it is rubbing off…

  20. December 3, 2010 9:10 am

    hahaha fact: you are hilarious
love the egg sandwich thrown in there

  21. December 3, 2010 9:11 am

fact: we love you too :)

  22. December 3, 2010 9:23 am

HAHA! I like your “Facts” post! I love bullet points or lists or surveys or any type of “straight-to-the-point”, non-paragraph form posts:)

I would gladly take that pink mug off your hands. I LOVE pink…makes me happy! If I were single, you bet I’d live in a pepto-bismol house (and, consequently, probably remain single HAHA!) I’m still trying to get hubby to buy me a mini- pink Christmas tree, but I know it won’t “go” in our home. Sigh. ;)

Yay for holiday parties! I’m going to Hubby’s company Holiday party next Thursday. It’s at a country club and they always go “all out”. That will be my “free day” and yes, I’ll probablly eat the brownie…or cake…or cookie…or all of the above HA! ;)

  23. December 3, 2010 9:28 am

Fact: I couldnt imagine benig ANY happier that it’s FRIDAY

i hate pink stuff as well. give me blue, green or black anyday! my hubby makes me tea all the time at night (p.s. i love marshall’s shirt). i hate holiday parties so awkward haha, but this year is supposed to be fancy at some country club with wine/beer and a cash bar so who knows! peppermint tea with a splash of rice nog in it is DIVINE. life changing!

Fact – I am addicted to coffee, again

Fact: I’m not a fan of pink either, but it does help pale people have color.

Fact: I love the fact that you said mmm after every sip, sounds like something I would do that Ben would get annoyed with.

Fact: I’m hoping we skip the company x-mas deal, I’d rather have my awesome bonus!

Random Fact: I think it’s great the people can bond over a blog, an entertaining one at that. It shows a friendship built upon listening. I recently went to the “downtown hoedown” on Fremont Street because a friend on mine is in a country group called Stealing Angels. I hadn’t seen her in 10 years. We became friends again because of Facebook. I was so excited for her and her trio. Helps me realize that even though 2 of my good friends opted out of my life recently that there are others out there even cooler. Even if they are just on the blog world or Facebook or in another state and I will one day meet them.. :)

  28. December 3, 2010 11:50 am

i’ve been eyeing that tea!! should pick some up next time. fact: my stats are the same on protein oatmeal. and fact: you are gorgeous! i wish my bangs would be tamed and fall on my face like that.. instead i’ve got major waves and a tricky hairline!

  29. December 3, 2010 12:20 pm

Nice job on the work out – esp for getting over your sickness!
    Now I want that tea!

  30. December 3, 2010 12:26 pm

Fact: I am determined to get my BBQ fix before I leave for London. But you are so right about the lack of good veggies at BBQ joints. Which is strange, because their classier kin, steakhouses, always have good veggie selections.

Glad you had a good day!

  31. December 3, 2010 12:37 pm

    I love you too!

And that tea! I’m not lying…I’m drinking a cup steeped in 1/2 water, 1/2 almond milk right now!

  32. December 3, 2010 12:55 pm

Our work events are always catered by Famous Dave’s too. I love brisket but get a little ornary with the whole no veggies thing.

  33. December 3, 2010 1:05 pm

Oh Janetha!! You rock, my dear! Like, Purplebirdblog, I love Celestial Seasonings Nutcracker Sweet and Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride tea and this year, zero, yes, zero stores in my area carry it! I was seriously close to tears. But, I think your Cinnamon Vanilla tea from Trader Joe’s might be an awesome substitute and I will promptly be picking some up tomorrow!!!!

And BTW, I am not a fan of BBQ restaurants either. DH loves them as he is 98% carnivore. I am about 35% carnivore and love me some veggies! Loved your random post and hope you have an awesome day!

  34. December 3, 2010 1:25 pm

fact: I always enjoy reading your blog, no matter how random or “off topic”
    Have a great Friday!

  35. December 3, 2010 1:44 pm

Tea is good, but cabbage soup is better ;)

I don’t know if I could do intervals in seconds – I think I would lose my mind trying to figure it all out if I didn’t have it mapped out before I hopped on the treadmill. I do think tonight calls for a J.G. Incline HIIT – I only have to do two miles and I keep telling myself that one day I will touch that incline button….

  36. December 3, 2010 3:48 pm

i am always drinking tea in the winter…my favorite discovery last year was rooibos but i’ll have to add your new tea find to my buy list…it sounds really delicious!

  37. December 3, 2010 3:52 pm

Fact: I was at Costco today and saw a 2-pack of the contigo travel mugs! So I picked up one for andrew and I and one for my mom! I would have never of known about them if it wasn’t for youuu :)
Fact: You and Marshall are ridiculously goood loooking!! xx

  38. December 3, 2010 4:32 pm

I have that tea too, my 3rd box this holiday season. I’m hooked. Have you tried the candy cane flavor too? That one is good but like the vanilla color better.

  39. December 5, 2010 11:01 am

    I hate pink too!!
And, you’re making me wish for a Trader Joe’s in Florida for Christmas :) We STILL don’t have one- totally sucks. There is So much I want to try from there.

  40. December 6, 2010 6:49 am

Poppin’ in to let you know that I picked up some of the TJ’s tea yesterday during my weekly shopping trip. HOLY CRAP. It’s delicious! Like cake frosting in a mug. Thanks for the recommendation!

  41. December 7, 2010 10:54 pm
