flashback friday.
hola!
not a lot of time to babble today, sorry. glad you all enjoyed j5’s guest post! sounds like a lot of you are looking forward to reading more “a day in the life” posts.. so here’s hoping my friends & family members start sending their posts in.. *hint, hint* ;)
yesterday was BUSY and i didn’t take photos of ANYTHING. but we did successfully finish our invitations and got them all mailed this morning (yay!) and we also met with the DJ for our wedding. things are coming together nicely.
stressfully, but nicely.
so, let’s write tomorrow off and start with friday’s details, shall we?
started off the morning with a rocky start at work, so i poured a bowl of muesli and put about 1/2 cup of silk almond milk over the top.. and stuck it in the fridge for about an hour while i dealt with work stuff.
when i pulled it out, gloriousness had been created in my bowl. i scooped up a spoonful of mighty maple and called it breakfast!
you may notice that there really isn’t much protein in this breakfast. yeah, i know, i was lacking in that department. but this was still so delicious.. and since it was a late breakfast (10 AM), i didn’t need to worry about it holding me over for too long.
i can’t believe i am liking raisins so much. it kind of worries me.
LUNCH was in the form of a salad.
greens and veggies topped with 4 oz of chicken (i boiled a bunch of chicken the other night, great for salads!) and hummustard dressing, which is 2 TB sabra hummus+1 TB hot & sweet mustard + water to thin.
i also toasted a slice of cracked wheat bread and ate it with my salad.
deee-lishus.
let’s not talk about work. let’s just talk about the snack i had when i got to LEAVE work. (woohoo!)
string cheese + kombucha
had this in the car, as i had to drive ten million blocks west to pick up three sinks! yep. sinks. one kitchen one and two bathroom ones. i bought them from CSN stores and fedex has been trying to deliver them for over a week.
well, i had them shipped to momma b’s house since she is usually home.. and she just so happens to be in costa rica right now (we won’t talk about the jealousy factor) so the fedex man has been trying and trying to deliver my sinks with no luck. and i got to drive out to the boonies to get the sinks. thank goodness i had string cheese and kombucha.
when i got home i had a package waiting for me! (and 10 peanut butter filled pretzels, but that is beside the point.)
awhile back i saw my blog friend lisa leonard mention these epiphanie camera purses. i had just received my canon rebel DSLR camera for my birthday and desperately needed a bag to carry it in. i am accident prone. i ordered one immediately!
they were backordered, so it took awhile to get here.. but today my bag finally arrived!
look how dang cute it is!!
and sooo functional. the padded inside has adjustable compartments and safely holds your DSLR camera without added bulk.
i can’t wait to start using this purse! i love that it will carry my camera (safely) and i can still lug around all my other crap in the same bag. i highly recommend these bags to all you DSLR lovin’ ladies out there. you can check out the styles and colors on their website: click.
i am about to do an insanity DVD and marshall is going to make some spaghetti for dinner, because that is what he does, makes the best spaghetti in the universe. and then we are off to j5’s birthday party!
SO.. for flashback friday i thought i would flash back to some years past of j5’s birthday parties. mmmmk? lovely!

I take full credit for converting you to a raisin lover.
I was looking at those bags last week AND TODAYYYYY and I wanted one so badly but $164 is a bit over my budget :( :(
I’ll keep admiring them and maybe one day I’ll take the plunge.
I carry a over the shoulder Dooney and Bourke bag, like a sling. It’s small and fits exactly my cell, wallet and camera. Nothing else. I HATE carrying a purse when I’m out and about doing things. An over the shoulder back is much better.

I used to LOVE huge bags… now I’m getting more into smaller ones- better to carry around the city!

I love that bag!! Great idea for a Christmas present for my sister! I’ve never seen your hair curly before, it’s cute in those pics! I have a cross-over coach bag. I hate carrying purses, so with this, I don’t have to! Plus I told my bf I HAD to have it for our Ireland Trip. I won :)

When you said you put milk in your Muesli (mueslix?) and put it in the fridge for a while I realized that’s exactly how I ate it in Greece! I’d never really had it like that before, but man was it good. I like my cereal soggy though so it was perfect for me. You may not have felt like it had much protein, but I bet the maple butter helped you stay full! :) I seriously need to go back up some Mueslix next time I’m in Whole Foods. Is there where you buy it? I’m still not excited about the raisin part (I picked a ton out of the Raisin Bran the other day!) but I can deal with it.. maybe I’ll learn to love them?
I am actually not even a purse person – I carry around a mini-backpack as my purse! I get tired of the constant strap-falling-off-the-shoulder thing so when I DO start carrying around a purse it isn’t long before I revert back to my mini-packs. Unfortunately I have no worn through 2 of them (both have holes) and they’re getting harder to find! I’m looking to register for a diaper bag right now and oddly enough the ones I liked are all the “daddy diaper bags” that are messenger-style. I didn’t even realize that! Heheheheh…
Uh…I mean “buy some Muesli” – I have no idea where “back up some Muesli” came from. DOH!
Yay for getting things along with the wedding. SO exciting! For purses, I like having a billion different sizes for the occasion, I even carry two wallets, one pocket one and one with excess cards/gift cards/etc if I’m at the mall. I have bags that are super small for nights out to my massive Lululemon workout/travel/work bag that everyone always comments on its giant-ness.

I like that camera purse. I wouldn’t even put my camera in it. I’d just use it as a regular purse! I don’t really carry a purse. I carry my wallet and that’s about it. Well, I have a bag that I lug all my work crap in that’s just a black tote I bought at target and another small black purse that I bought at Target that I’ll use on the weekends when I go out and my boyfriend wants me to put his keys in there because god forbid he puts them in his pocket.

I love having a big purse. I like carrying things around that I probably don’t need but ya never know! Plus I need room for my 24 ounce water bottle. Speaking of which, I could probably use a new purse.
Umm I LOVE your dslr bag. I may have to be taking a look at that brand myself because currently I’m a bad dslr owner and have no real secure way of carrying my camera.
I have a big purse and love it! I actually got it from Target. They have such good purses for not a lot of money. I’m allllllll about it!
I tried to register for those breakfast mugs at C&B and it keeps saying they are only available at the outlet and not at the regular C&B. Boo. I know I’ve seen them at the regular store.
I have a medium sized purse. You know, I was anti-purse until I was like 22. Really, until I got a cell phone and didn’t have a place to carry it. Before that, I carried my wallet in my back pocket like a guy.
For a long time I went with just a little wrist-let, but now I’m back to a huge purse (that I need to clean out).
The opposite is happening to me! I used to love raisins, and now they’re so sickly sweet they give me a headache and I don’t like them! I hate purses, lol. I carry around my wallet in my pocket and my keys in my hand. I know, probably not as functional as it could be… but I can’t stand purses! They feel awkward.
That camera purse is fabulous! I want one! It would make me take my DSLR more places, me thinks. I love a big ‘ol purse, but I try to keep it to a mid-sized one or else my whole life ends up in it and I can’t find anything.
I always carry huge, deep bags! It makes things difficult when I actually want to find something. ;)
I love a big bag that can hold everything! The only problem is, when I load it up… it makes my robo-back hurt! So, I have to be reallyt careful not to carry too much stuff. Oh, and I love different pockets… Having just one deep sack makes it so hard to find what I’m looking for ;)

Ive been a tiny purse girl since high school–I used wristlets for as long as I can remember because they can fit all I needed (phone, ID, cards, etc.) Now that I’m a big girl, however, I decided it’s time to transition to actual purses…
