flashback friday round twenty three: i got deported.

January 29, 2010

hello gorgeous friends!  happy weekend to you all :) it had been a day and then some for me.. it is almost nine PM and i am finally sitting down to relax.  i don’t think i will get off this couch until monday morning ;)

not going to ramble.

meals

somehow i managed to go a whole two days without my new found love!  i had it for breakfast this morning..

meal 1: yoatgurt. which is protein oats + PB2 yogurt @ 8:30 AM

IMG_5863

*reunited and it feeeeeels so goooooood!*

yes, i have dubbed this “yoatgurt” umm cold yogurt.. hot oats..  so there you have it. i used the usual 1/3 cup oats, 1/2 cup chocolate protein powder, 1 cup oikos, 1 TB chocolate PB2.. which was the LAST of my chocolate PB2. le sigh.

IMG_5865

mm. warm oats, cold yogurt.. what makes the combo so stellar?  big props to my ladies katie, kailey, kacy and julie who have all given this combo a whirl. anyone else i missed? and ellie~ i know you want me to try it cold but i don’t know if i can give up the gooey warmth!

eaten at my desk with the necessary beverages: water and coffee.

IMG_5862

work was super busy which is not normal for a friday.  but it is the end of the month and i am leaving town for a week so there is a lot to get done before next friday (EEK!)

meal 2: sodium+sodium+more sodium @ 11:45 AM

IMG_5866

what’s in the bowl, you ask?  well, three sodium-filled foods. sometimes ya gotta.

IMG_5869

1/2 cup garbanzos, 3/4 cup low fat cottage cheese, 1/2 cup italian season diced tomatoes (canned) all mixed up. it was deeeelicious!

IMG_5868

i had a toasted arnold sandwich thin alongside my concoction.

IMG_5870

random lunch, but satisfying.

things got a tad crazy around snacktime.  someone who works er—worked at our office just decided to up and quit this afternoon. um.. okay. sweet. stay classy. i won’t get into the details of it because that would be ultra lame of me.. but it did throw a wrench into my day~ we had to take some emergency precautions which kept me at work two hours later than i should have been there and with little time for a snack.

luckily i had this dude on hand!

meal 3: chai tea luna bar @ 4?

IMG_5871IMG_5874 IMG_5873IMG_5872

this was a new-to-me flavor. the verdict? i dug it! total winner. i love chai tea so it was kind of a given that i would love it. then again, i love peanut butter and HATED the peanut butter cookie luna~ ah well, ya win some ya lose some. luckily i won today with this new bar. i will be buying it again.

after work i went to dogfunk and picked up a few items for jamaaaica. swimsuit bottoms and tanks and coverups and such.  wanna see? ok:

imageimageimage

you can click on the pictures to go to the website. it is based here in SLC which is dangerous because i spend WAY too much time and money at their warehouse! but they have rad gear.

anyway~ by the time i was done there it was 6 PM but it was off to the gym!  as much as i wanted to just go home, i decided to see how the treadmill felt.

moves

today was a cardio+abs day but truth be told, i just did a really easy 30 minute interval workout:

(on the treadmill)

minute # speed
0-5 5.0 mph
5-8 6.5 mph
8-9 8.0 mph
9-12 6.5 mph
12-13 8.5 mph
13-16 6.5 mph
16-17 9.0 mph
17-20 6.5 mph
20-21 9.0 mph
21-24 6.5 mph
24-25 8.5 mph
25-28 6.5 mph
28-29 8.0 mph
29-30 4.0 mph

total time: 30 minutes, total distance: 3.26 miles

check out my mileage page! i am almost 10% toward my mileage goal for the year.. and we are only a month in. hooray!

check out what i saw when i was leaving the gym:

IMG_5875

yep. homeboy took a cab to the gym. that is dedication right there!

i came home and had a special delivery! i love mail!

IMG_5881

these are the protein powders i ordered the other day.  i got two BSN lean dessert flavors: cinnamon roll and banana nut bread, and i got the biochem chocolate fudge flavor. thanks to everyone for your protein powder advice~ i think these should last me for some time!!

i made some random dinner. i wanted veggies and i wanted to try the cinnamon roll protein powder.

meal 4: whole bag of steamfresh veggies + cinnamon roll protein shake @ 8 PM

IMG_5878

yes. i ate the whole bag. it actually isn’t very many veggies but the bag said 4 servings. psh.. more like one! i adorned my veggies with salt and pepper.

IMG_5880

and then the cinnamon goodness!  this had 1/2 cup soy milk (im out of almond milk, had to use the roomie’s) 1/2 cup water, lots of ice, 1 scoop cinnamon protein powder, generous shake of cinnamon and the gums~

 IMG_5888

YUM!

IMG_5887

i’m completely happy with my decision to branch out and try new protein powders. i can’t wait to try this one in my oats.

***************************************************************

time for flashback friday round XXIII!

so since next friday i will be ON MY WAY TO JAMAICA i decided to do this flashback friday a tad early.  i have been planning on this one for a long time..

february 2, 2007 i was deported from canada.

(insert frowny face here)

this flashback friday will not have many photos, as i have lost lots of my files due to computer crashes over the years.. but i wanted to share the story!  i am still trying to look back on it and laugh~ turns out 3 years is still not long enough.

when i lived in london i made friends with a bunch of austrailians.  one particular aussie i befriended was lachy.  he and i became super good friends.  when he decided to spend a season in big white (a ski resort in kelowna, british columbia, canada) i decided i had to go pay him a visit!

i planned to go to big white for 10 days and snowboard my face off and hang out with lachy and just have a baller time.  some of my friends originally said they would go along with me, but when it came down to it~ i went alone.  that was fine, i like to travel and don’t mind traveling alone. as long as i can get into the country i am going to.

i first flew to seattle and got there in the afternoon on the 2nd of february.  unfortunately, my flight to canada was canceled due to the weather. strike one.  i had to just hang out in the airport for a few hours.  i decided to go get something to eat.. and then i realized that my debit card was missing.  ugh. strike two.  i had no idea where it was! i figured it had just fallen out of my pocket somehow.  this was the story of my life. i once lost my debit card seven times over the course of six months! not exaggerating.  i currently don’t have a debit card because i don’t want to lose it.

SO~ anyway.. a second flight was canceled and i was stuck at the airport for what seemed like centuries.  i finally was able to snag a flight into kelowna and was ecstatic!  i got into canada around 9:30 PM.  the kelowna airport is probably the tiniest airport on the planet. so small.

one by one we all picked up our bags.  the only people at the little airport were the workers and then the people who were with me on the plane.  one by one we went through the customs line to show our passports.  and i was pulled aside.

i was put into a room. by myself.

i started to panic.

there was lots of talk behind closed doors and i had no idea what was going on. after QUITE some time, they came to talk to me.  everyone had gone on their merry way.  i was the only one left.  i burst into tears~ i had no idea why they pulled me aside.

freaking out.

they started questioning me about my past.  asking if i had any criminal charges.  yes, i told them, i did have charges from when i was 20.. from july of 2003.  i had taken care of them and my name was clear…

in the united states.

apparently you cannot have any type of charges on your record for FIVE years before trying to go to canada. say what?! i had no flipping clue!

so they told me i was getting deported. i won’t go into the details (oh and don’t ask what my charges from 2003 were) but lets just say a lot of tears were shed and i basically thought my life was ending.

strike three, i was out.

they gave me three options, since there were no flights going back to seattle that night:

  • stay the night in the airport
  • stay the night IN JAIL
  • have lachy pick me up, hang out with him for the night and come back the next morning to fly out

well obviously i decided to stay the night in jail.

hah. psyche!  i had lachy come pick me up so we could spend a little, tiny bit of time together.

what really chapped my hide was the fact that they wouldn’t let me into the country for ten days to snowboard~ but they would let me in for the night.  as far as concepts and principles go, i would have rather they made me stay in the airport or jail! but of course i was grateful that i got to see lachy and hang out for the short time i had.

oh and P.S. i dunno what was wrong with the exposure on my camera. all the photos are super white.

lachy and his friends picked me up~

IMG_0065

i hadn’t seen him for five years!!

we went to the hostel he was living at.. where i had paid for nine non refundable nights.. ugh..

IMG_0074

we went out to a bar~

lachiespics235

and gallivanted around the town until the wee hours of the morning. i had to get my moneys worth! i mean.. i spent a few grand on a trip i wasn’t going to be able to take.

we slept for a few hours and then headed to the mountain.  i had purchased a snowboarding pass from some girl for $200.. and i was able to take three runs.  those were very, very expensive runs!

on the lift~
IMG_0091

in the lodge, having a meat pie because lachy said i HAD to try one.. haha..

lachiespics265

and then it was back to the airport to fly home :(

IMG_0105

i’d been crying my little eyes out.

i ended up coming back to the SLC and took the time off from work even though i had been deported.  i spent the time snowboarding at my local resorts.. sigh.. not as epic as canada would have been!

here are some photos from the days i spent in SLC when i was supposed to be in canada~

sigh. tried to live it up in the SLC but i was really just depressed about getting deported!

and NOW.. i don’t know how to get allowed back into the country. apparently once you’ve been deported you have to jump through all sorts of hoops to be allowed in.  if anyone has an in at the canadian embassy~ let me know! i sure wish i could go to banff with these girls.

well folks. there you have it! my biggest travel debacle ever! hope you enjoyed the story.

did you participate in flashback friday?  i know deb and holly and susan and taylor and jessie and lauren did!  let me know if you did too and i will link back in my next post.

and i leave you with smoothie ‘staches!

  2. January 29, 2010 11:11 pm

Holy sh*t that’s a story!!!!!!!! I have traveled fairly extensively and have had some private plane in Costa Rican rainforest almost crashing with just me and pilot kind of thing. Traveling thru europe ALONE at age 14. My parents honestly just let me. And travelint to Aruba every year for a month, well, we have plenty. But nothing quite like yours. Wow. Charges. Hmmmm.. let me guess, jaywalking? littering? :) I thought so.

Your new clothes = super cute.
Your new protein powder cinny roll in the shake = super divine.
    Did you get my guestie?
    xoxo

  3. January 29, 2010 11:18 pm

That is brutal, wow :( Big White is amazing…I’ve only been there once (16+ years ago) but that is when I learned to ski. You should come back!

Haha yep! You left out the hysterical phone calls home during your deportation debacle…it is still so painful for me too…

Please give me some baggies of protein powder samples ok?

Ah indeed flying to Italy I had a nurse friend give me a half ddozen ambien…I gave janetha and dad one then took one myself-hmmm still awake so I took another and I’m pretty sure an hour later I took a third whoa—-poor janetha had to literally drag me thru the airport (dad was trying to ignore me)! In reality the first couple of days in Italia are still pretty foggy! Haha thanks Neef for rescuing me again love you!!! Xoxoxo

  6. January 29, 2010 11:52 pm

Holy freakin small world batman. I was JUST at Big White- my cousin is a big wig there and Kelowna is where we go annually to visit the rellies.!!!!! Next time I’m there I’ll give the single digit salute on your behalf to the agents (once I’m safely through of course). That photo of Derek thigh-deep in the snow is from BW!!

Can’t wait to hear how you like the dessert flaves. I love the consistency and the vanilla is rockin.

I had some smuggling issues coming back from Canada once b/c Kelowna is a huge grape-growing region (some really good wines) and I was smuggling back a bunch (pre- no-liquid days) and so I did the old bait & switch by having all sorts of fruits and veggies for them to confiscate so they forgot all about checking the rest of my carry-on for the 13 bottles of wine I had :-) Hee hee I’m a criminal and proud of it!

  7. January 30, 2010 12:13 am

OMG, best flashback friday ever. Deported. Woah.

Nothing like that has happened to me yet. Worst I’ve gotten was getting stopped at the mexico/us border and having all my stuff searched and being questioned about everything I had. Apparently I was “suspicious.”

Ah I live in Kelowna, so that picture from the airport is soo familiar! Our airport has grown a bit since then, but is still small in comparison to the big league airports :)

  9. January 30, 2010 12:18 am

Nothing besides delayed flights and broken suitcases. Italian airport crews are the world leaders when it comes to breaking/damaging passenger luggage.

  10. January 30, 2010 12:52 am

OMG your trip!! That’s awful!! At least you had some fun while you had the time off right? And I totally eat the whole bag of veggies on usual occasions. My roommates can’t get over the portions of veggies I eat. I don’t just eat a single serving – I eat like 5 servings at once. Which is fine by me!

    1. Ummm nothing comes to mind!

    2. Nope probably not. Only if I were close enough that the cab ride wouldn’t be too expensive. But then if I were that close, I’d probably just walk.

  11. January 30, 2010 3:06 am

    Your trip sounds crazy!

I have no travel stories like that, haven’t done enough traveling!

I don’t know if I would take a cab to the gym!! Maybe if I was feeling really antsy?

P.S. Sorry I didn’t send my smoothie stache directly! No worries about posting it on here, I’ll send you a better photo in the future :)

    Lots o love,
    Lex

hilarious trip experience… well… I had one too. when I went to Europe for the first time with my BFF, on the fourth day of our trip, in Madrid, we were attacked by four men and they took everything.. passport, money, luggage… everything!!!! Can I beat you on this one? ;)

  13. January 30, 2010 4:50 am

haha. I was on a mission trip to South Africa (Zambia) in 2005 or 2006 (can’t remember) but anyway, in the middle of our flight our airlines went on strike. Yes this was 9 hours into our 18 hour flight. Oh joy! I got stuck In Johannasburg for 2 extra weeks trying to get home. Not really a safe place for a blonde white female. haha!

  14. January 30, 2010 5:10 am

    Hmmm…that Luna flavor sounds interesting.

You BAD girl! Getting deported, what a story!

  15. January 30, 2010 5:58 am

I love that green coverup you got! I probably would not pay to take a cab to the gym – would opt to do a bunch of lunges/squat/pushups, etc and some run/walking.

  16. January 30, 2010 6:07 am

Oh man that’s one hell of a story! I would have been completely freaked out by that! But at least you got to spend some time with your mate :). Nothing like that has ever happened to me even though I’ve travelled a lot. I haven’t even lost a suitcase yet. I hope it’ll stay that way. ;)

  17. January 30, 2010 6:15 am

Haha what a story! I can’t believe they let you out to hang out with Lachey! We have a lot of bizarre traveling stories in my fam…like the time we got kicked out of a cafe in Paris when my brother brought a live pigeon to the table. Didn’t go over well, but I still think it’s impressive he caught one.

Um, I have taken a cab to the gym…but in my defense, I live in NYC and was coming from uptown in the rain…

  18. January 30, 2010 6:17 am

oh! i was just looking at bsn protein powders AND it was those flavs! let me know what you end up thinking of them :) woop woop

greekin yoats are amazing. i just finished a bowl right this past second except i made them with oat bran. mmm so thick n delish

haha i’ve seen MAD dudes get out of cabs at the gym. i’m not sure i would..

  19. January 30, 2010 6:25 am

Yikes! I always wondered about the deportation story…that sucks. Had no idea Canada had that rule- I know New Zealand has strange rules about people with mental health problems being let in. So odd. Pffft You can always come to the UK.

In summer, I am holding you to trying the cold oats…and meanwhile, I am still claiming that I came up with the Greek/oat combo. LOL. I tried it with muesli the other day (oats, barely flakes, dried fruit) hot with tFage…I DIE. So jealous of the BSN- I had planned to buy some when I was in the US, but WF were giving out samples of a chocolate whey that was seriously the most amazing thing I have ever tried so I got that instead. Then I got back and ordered a huuuuuuge tub of my vanilla powder (so cheap on eBay) and then, stopped using powder. My kitchen is overlfowing with protein powder I don’t eat anymore! Aaaaah. Lol.

    1. are there any traveling debacles you would like to share with the class? I am trying to think, but drawing a blank…though my trips to the US have generally involved some crazy random accidents (2 years ago I choked in a restaurant- was all dramatic and I have scar tissue in my throat now which is why all my foods are soft/mushy). TMI. Sorry.

    2. would you pay to take a cab to the gym? LMAO. I don’t take cabs, but maybe if I was rushing to a class or something? I think if I was to join a gym, I would make sure it was easy walking distance to my house to make it harder to skip going.

i also just got the BSN cinnamon roll and banana nut! so good! cant wait to see what you do with them!!!! love your ideas

  21. January 30, 2010 6:39 am

No leaving the country troubles or woes over here. That would be because I am lame and never travel. Part of me is scared to because of my citizenship status. I REALLY need to work on that! I did have a horrid and LONG car drive back home once, where the car we were following was being driven by a drunk lunatic in denial. At like 5 in the morning. It took us a good hour to figure out what was going on. We were wondering why the kids kept looking out the back window with scared looks on their faces. YES! KIDS! Let’s just say there was a rest stop showdown and a scene was made that’s fit for the movies. BAH!

I just might take a cab to the gym. Or maybe I would walk. That sort of makes more sense. :)

  22. January 30, 2010 6:48 am

I can’t wait till you try biochem…. so good! the tubs only been lasting me like a month! haha

  23. January 30, 2010 7:21 am

Breakfast and lunch = love. Yoatgurt! Ha! I was going to have that for breakfast this morning and then I forgot. I was distracted by my new crunchy cashew butta. Slurp! Oh and P.S., how did i NOT know about that store??? I am checking it out pronto! xoxo

  24. January 30, 2010 7:43 am

This is such a series of unfortunate events! Baah this made me sad Janetha! Even though it was only a few years ago- what a total failure. Nothing like this ever severe has happened, but just a few things that I thought were gonna be a total success not ending up as planned has happened. But these things happen to everyone all the time, and I guess we just have to roll with the punches.

Yoatgurt. Woudln’t it be proatgurt?? Protein oat yogurt? Heh heh.
I’m obsessed. I need to order protein powder to my dorm room stat. Even though I can’t have my magic bullet- protein oats is a definitely must. I might as well splurge for some PB2 too. Never tried before.

  25. January 30, 2010 7:44 am

welcome to my lovely country! loooool

  26. January 30, 2010 7:54 am

In case you’re wondering, friendship makes a pretty tasty no-salt-added 1% cottage cheese!
That is a very…interesting story! Too bad you didn’t get to snowboard. Haha, my aunt is actually one of the directors of Canadian security, but she only does commercial stuff, not humans, sorry.
NONE of my airport nightmares are that bad!

  27. January 30, 2010 8:13 am

Wow. What a story! You must have been so disappointed… I once got stuck at the Mexican border coming back to Arizona for about 10 hours. Wasn’t fun…

    Happy weekend!

I LOVE Luna bars but definitely haven’t noticed the Chai tea flavor. I’m looking for that ASAP! :D

  29. January 30, 2010 8:25 am

did someone say chai tea luna?! hot damn wherez can I get one!

oh my gaga – you poor thing! I would still be traumatized from that airport experience. Yikes! but it sounds like yo peeps definitely salvaged the night.

happy weekend my sweet lovepie! <3

  30. January 30, 2010 8:39 am

Canada deports people?? That’s a new one and quite a story!! Wow :(

And I just spent about 30 mins on the DogFunk (love the name!) site. I want to go on an island vaca so I have an excuse to shop for suits and stuff. LOL at the oh my gaga above.

  31. January 30, 2010 8:49 am

you poor girl! cant believe they deported a sunny, smiling cute girl i mean…what did they think you were gonna do in canada?? jeeze.

also, who are they kidding, one serving of veggies?? i usually buy a family size bag and feel like that is two servings LOL.

    happy weekend!!! xox

  32. January 30, 2010 9:04 am

I really wanna try protein powder as I have never had it before! Those flavors look soo yumm! Are protein smoothies good?! Because they sure look good!

I can’t believe they deported you!!! How rude! Well, next time you want to come to Canada, let me know. I live 5 min from the border into Blaine, WA. You could drive up from Seattle and I will smuggle you in!! Kelowna is about a 4 hour drive tho. Well worth being smuggled in, I say!
If that had happened to me, and I was travelling alone and got deported, probably would have been hysterical!
PS I tired oats with yogurt this morning… DELISH!

  35. January 30, 2010 10:23 am

MEAT PIE!! Well I’m glad you at least got to experience that while in Canada :) Dude, that is an awful, awful story. I’ve never heard of that record thing! You should look into if you were technically “deported” or not. Sounds like you were just denied at the border, which may be something completely different. And if it’s been 5 years since the charges you may be good to go! I’ll ask my dad… he knows everything ;)

Also, I totally thought that Arnold’s thin were pancakes. I’ve still got them on my mind from your last post.

    1. My worst travel debacle was when I went to Jamaica last year. Our flight was delayed by four hours (weather, it’s always snowing on the day you’re flying in Canada). Once we were finally up in the air, we were supposed to have a quick stopover to pick some people up in PEI, about 45 minutes worth of flying away. But when we got there, the airport’s equipment wasn’t working and we couldn’t land. So we had to turn the plane back around and go back to our airport of origin, then wait another few hours while the people in PEI were bussed to another airport. We then took off again, made the stopover in a different city, and were off to Jamaica. And during all of this WE HAD NO FOOD!! I ate like 4 Luna bars and almost died. We lost a day out of our 7 day trip because of the whole thing too.

    2. I think I have before!! I used to take the bus to the gym in high school and I’d always miss my bus back home.

  36. January 30, 2010 10:24 am

That is such a crazy story! I really hope you can figure things out with the Canadian Embassy – that would be so awesome if you came to Banff (I live close by!)

Those protein powder flavours sound delish!

  37. January 30, 2010 10:32 am

No, I would not pay for a cab to go to the gym. It is -16C here and I still walk everywhere =/

WOW that is a crazy story! Can you come back here now?? I’d love a visitor, lol! I have a couple semi-crazy traveling stories… I once trespassed on the Canadian army in Quebec when I was 14, by accident with my friends, and got driven out by screaming frenchmen with rifles. Oh, and I reaked some havoc on a small town in Italy in July ’08. LOL

And, most recently, I was coming BACK into the U.S. from Canada with my friend, and it was like 20 questions… then they inspected the car… I was so scared, I was like, “I am American! Let me into my country!” In short, it was easier to MOVE TO CANADA then it was to RETURN TO MY OWN COUNTRY. LOL

    Ok, enough for now.

Love youuu and have a great weekend!

    xo

  38. January 30, 2010 11:27 am

youll have to let me know how the biochem stuff is!!

About the taxi–nope, I wouldnt. Im cheap :)

Oh my goodness, I would have been a WRECK if that had happened to me. I cry even if my bags get randomly searched at the airport…you’re such a trooper!!

I really doubt I would pay a tax to go to the gym…maybe, but I doubt it.

Wow! Talk about a flashback! That is crazy, but I must say, you did an awesome job of taking major advantage of what little time you had. I’m really impressed, and you were smiling big through it all!

    1. I’ve been stuck overnight in the SAME airport in Charlotte, NC twice within 3 months of each other on totally unrelated trips. It was way too ironic for me, but I did learn A LOT about how to travel and deal with delays efficiently :)

    2. Hmm, maybee, but I would look into some other form of public transportation first.

I remembered my travel story! I bought flights with some budget airline to visit my dad in Scotland when I was living in London. Arrived and all was good. Went to get my plane home and when I checked in, they were like, “oh- no, you are on the flight right now coming to Scotland”. I was like, “um, hello- I am standing right here”. Turns out I had booked 2 ONE-WAY FLIGHTS FROM LONDON TO SCOTLAND. And no return flight home. I was mad.

First of all, I am so glad you gave yoatgurt such an amazing name! Makes me wanna go make some right now just so I can use the name ;)

So sorry about your deportation situation. That is terrible! But…. let’s just say that I guess I probably can’t go to Canada either ;)

No bad travel stories other than some lost luggage here and there and I’m probably not hardcore enough to cab it to the gym, espesh since I have a pretty decent at-home gym.

Love to you! Yay for Jamaica soon!

That is seriously, hard-core dedication going to the gym in a cab! I don’t know if I would do that. Actually, I know I wouldn’t do that. But it’s awesome that he did! :D

I can’t wait to see what you think of the other protein powders…If you dig them, I think that justifies me getting them, too. heheh.

Man, I just wrote this long comment about tripping over a duffle bag and falling on my face in an airplane and it didn’t post.

That cross-back dress is super cute. I think dresses with pockets are the best. Your Canada story is Insane btw!

On the way back from Costa Rica (on what was supposed to be a direct flight) we stopped in Guatemala and had to spend the night. I flipped my shit because I am crazy.

Oh, I had a layover in Canada on the way back from Spain (I went by myself) and ended up sitting in the middle of some Canadian hockey team. I always tell people I became part of the mile high club on that flight, but it’s not true :(

My sister and I went to the Dominican Republic, and we went to a store to buy a swim suit. The sales person stuffed the swimsuit in my sisters purse and told her to give her 20 bucks, and then pushed us out…
The lady was stealing money.. my sister tried to to give it back, but we freaked out.. and just froze. We had to be questioned and such. it was scary.. I mean, its a totally differant country!!

That’s horrible Janetha! I had no idea that stuff could happen!

My worst travel experience happened last December. Andy, his parents and I flew to Norfolk, VA to go to Andy’s grandmother’s funeral over Christmas break and they lost our luggage for 3 days!!!! It was 30 degrees in VA and us Californians were not prepared. ugh.
